Paul R. Stafford, MD, FACC, FSCAI, is a cardiologist at Pierremont Cardiology who welcomes patients with heart conditions that can affect your lifestyle and longevity. He practices invasive, noninvasive and interventional cardiology for adults. Specialized treatments that Dr. Stafford provides include coronary angiography, stenting, angioplasty, and implantation of pacemakers and other devices. Dr. Stafford also diagnoses and treats patients with PAD, peripheral arterial disease.
Dr. Stafford believes in treating with the same personal care that he would his own family. He spends time with patients and their families to educate them about available treatments. Dr. Stafford wants everyone to feel comfortable with treatment decisions that can improve their quality of life and longevity.
Although a Shreveport native, Dr. Stafford grew up in Oklahoma, where he began his collegiate studies. He attended the University of Oklahoma, LSU-Baton Rouge and LSU-Shreveport. Next was his study of biochemistry and molecular biology at LSU Health Sciences Center-Shreveport School of Graduate Studies. Medical school, an internal medicine residency and a cardiology fellowship were also at LSUHSC-S. He was chief fellow.
Dr. Stafford holds American Board of Internal Medicine certifications in cardiovascular disease and interventional cardiology. He is a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology (FACC) and a Fellow of the Society for Cardiovascular Angiography & Interventions (FSCAI). Dr. Stafford has served on the board of American Heart Association.
Away from the clinic, Dr. Stafford enjoys spending time outdoors with his family. His favorite activities include scuba, hunting, skiing and traveling.
