Ryan Master, MD, is a cardiologist at Pierremont Cardiology who welcomes patients with emergency and chronic heart conditions that affect lifestyle and longevity. Dr. Master primarily treats adults who have cardiovascular disease and he takes pleasure in seeing patients overcome health problems through various therapies. He sees patients for everything from chest pain to coronary artery disease, from heart valve problems to arrhythmias. His clinical interests include preventive medicine, complex coronary interventions, chronic total occlusion (CTO), peripheral arterial disease (PAD) and structural heart disease interventions like transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR).
A Shreveport native, Dr. Master earned his bachelor’s degree at Rhodes College in Memphis. He pursued a master’s degree in pharmacology at Tulane University in New Orleans. His interest in vascular biology and pulmonary hypertension led him to medical school back home at LSU Health Sciences Center-Shreveport. His medical training was an internal medicine residency through UT Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas at Parkland Memorial Hospital and the North Texas VA. Dr. Master remained at UT Southwestern to pursue specialty training with fellowships in general cardiology and interventional cardiology.
Dr. Master holds American Board of Internal Medicine certifications in internal medicine and cardiovascular disease.
Away from the clinic, Dr. Master enjoys spending time with his wife, Stephanie, and their two children. His favorite pastimes are sports and outdoor activities.
